I've had a LinkedIn page for years. I haven't done much with it.
I'm Carlos Rodriguez, a general surgeon in Fort Worth. I spent 24 years in the Navy before this, and I've been operating long enough to know that most of what patients struggle with isn't the surgery itself. It's not knowing what's actually going on, or what their options are.
So I'm changing that. Most weeks, I'll be writing about the things I actually do every day:
- Gallbladder problems, and what robotic cholecystectomy actually involves
- Hernias, including inguinal, umbilical, and incisional, and what the repair options really look like
- Robotic surgery, and what it means for the person on the table
- How I'm using AI in my own practice, and what's actually helpful versus overhyped
- The questions patients ask me in clinic every single day
These will be short posts, under a minute to read, and I'll back up anything clinical with real references. If you're a surgeon, a referring provider, or just someone trying to figure out what's wrong with your gallbladder, there should be something here for you.
